Welcome to the Computer Science page for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Our goal is to sustain and expand computer science education in the state of Missouri. We are here to support educators, schools, and local educational agencies (LEAs) in providing high-quality computer science education to all students. Computer science fosters critical skills, including computational thinking and critical thinking. Computational thinking is a method used for problem-solving that includes dissecting problems, identifying patterns, filtering out unnecessary information, and formulating systematic solutions for decision-making. These core skills enable students to address real-world challenges and thrive in a technology-driven society.
