Public Hearing on State Support and Intervention Plan Tonight in Kansas City

Feb 24, 2014

State education officials will hold a public hearing regarding the Department’s State Support and Intervention Plan on Monday, Feb. 24, in Kansas City.

The hearing will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. at Metropolitan Community College-Penn Valley Campus, Physical Education Building, Room 101, 3201 Southwest Trafficway, Kansas City. It will be an opportunity to gather feedback regarding the Department’s draft plan for classification, support and intervention in unaccredited school districts.

“Your feedback is necessary and important to this process,” said Missouri Commissioner of Education Chris Nicastro. “We want to ensure every child in Missouri has access to high quality schools in their community in order to be prepared for college and career success.”

Anyone wishing to make comments may sign up to do so at the meeting.

A similar hearing will be held on Feb. 25 in St. Louis.
