DESE’s Office of Literacy is excited to announce that Literacy Summit 2026 will be held July 20 and 21 in Osage Beach, Missouri. This two-day conference — open to K-12 educators from all content areas — will be packed with high-quality professional development sessions delivered by literacy experts, highlighting this ongoing theme: “Every Teacher is a Literacy Teacher.”

This year’s keynote speaker, Natalie Wexler, is a nationally recognized education writer focused on literacy and the science of learning, and author of The Knowledge Gap.

Registration is now open for the DESE Literacy Summit, hosted by DESE’s Office of Literacy. This two-day conference, taking place July 20–21, 2026, offers high-quality professional learning for K–12 educators across all content areas. The deadline to register is June 12, 2026.
