Feb 03, 2015

Deputy Commissioner Ron Lankford has been named one of Southwest Missouri’s PathFinders, 10 men and women who are recognized as leaders in their fields. In an article in the January/February issue of J Mag, a magazine published by The Joplin Globe, Dr. Lankford is called one of the most respected educators of Southwest Missouri.

“Ron Lankford serves as an outstanding example of an effective educator,” said Commissioner of Education Margie Vandeven. “This recognition comes as no surprise to anyone who knows Ron and has worked with him.”

Dr. Lankford began his career as a counselor in Harrisburg R-XI, near Columbia, Mo. He also worked in East Newton School District in Granby, Mo., before moving to Webb City, Mo., where he ultimately served as superintendent until his retirement from the district.

Dr. Lankford was named Deputy Commissioner for the Department’s Division of Financial and Administrative Services in 2010.
