Department Launches Website Devoted to Missouri Educators

01/26/16

The Department recently launched “Missouri Teachers,” a new website designed to celebrate the successes of Missouri teachers and administrators. The new site highlights the accomplishments of Missouri teachers and administrators, and features guest teacher columns regarding pertinent education topics. It also features information for those interested in becoming a teacher in Missouri.

The website ties into Missouri’s Educator Equity Plan, which was created in 2015 to help recruit, prepare and retain effective teachers for all public schoolchildren in the state, especially in high-needs districts.

“All students deserve access to highly effective teachers, no matter where they live,” said Paul Katnik, assistant commissioner in the Office of Educator Quality. “Missouri continues to make a push to ensure we are not only attracting effective educators to our schools, but that we are also able to retain them.”
