The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Office of Childhood, launched Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library statewide on November 8, 2023. Due to state budget cuts beginning July 1st, 2026, DESE–OOC will exhaust remaining funding while simultaneously sunsetting with December 2026 books being the final state funded delivery.
The Dollywood Foundation is working to establish new Local Program Partners in communities throughout Missouri so that families can continue participating in DPIL.
What does this mean? You can check program availability in your community, if available, add your child’s name to the waitlist. Once a Local Program Partner is established in your community, you will be notified and given the opportunity to re-enroll your child.
