Annual Performance Reports for Educator Preparation Programs Now Available
Results from the latest Annual Performance Reports for Educator Preparation Programs (APR-EPPs) have been released to provide information about Educator Preparation Programs to the public, particularly to those pursuing a career in teaching or an advanced degree in education. The APR-EPPs can help those individuals better determine the preparation program in Missouri that’s best suited for them.
The APR-EPPs aim to support continuous improvement and enhance the collaboration taking place between the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), PK-12 schools and the Educator Preparation Programs across our state. Preparing, developing and supporting educators is one of DESE’s strategic priorities to ensure an effective teacher in every classroom and an effective leader in every school.
DESE’s Office of Educator Quality has worked to improve the APR-EPP calculation methods to more clearly evaluate the quality of certificate-eligible candidates emerging from Missouri’s Educator Preparation Programs. The APR-EPPs now available include:
- Teacher APR-EPP: The report is based on all nine Missouri Teaching Standards. This report changed in 2018 and therefore, currently reflects two years of data.
- School Counselor APR-EPP: The report is based on the five Missouri School Counselor Standards. This report changed in 2019 and therefore, only reflects one year of data at this time.
- School Leader APR-EPP: This report currently includes five years of data.
Click here to access the APR-EPPs by institution, then by certification area. Certification programs with fewer than 10 graduates eligible for certification over a five-year period are not reported publicly.
