Each month, over 25,000 children are supported with subsidy payments for child care. The Family Eligibility team receives around 4,000 applications per month and strives to process them within 15 days. However, the team is currently experiencing delays in processing and are working them within 30 days of submission except for our Protective Services applications that are worked within the week.

The Family Eligibility team has created a document to help families know what information they should have available when submitting the application. You can find that document on the website here: Please note some of the common reasons for delay:

• Missing income documentation- two paystubs are required
• Incorrect or incomplete information
• Not submitting documents within the 10 days of it being requested by DESE
