NBPTS seeks to identify and recognize teachers who effectively enhance student learning and demonstrate the high level of knowledge, skills, abilities and commitments reflected in five core propositions.

BLUE SPRINGS: The school district provides NBCTs with a 5% increase of their salary (not the base) for the life of the certificate.

CRAWFORD COUNTY R-I: National Board Certified Teachers are placed in the highest column on the salary schedule.

Since 1987, National Board for Professional Teaching Standards has advanced the quality of teaching and learning by developing professional standards for accomplished teaching, creating a voluntary system to certify teachers who meet those standards. For over two decades, Missouri teachers have participated in this enrichment process. Currently, no state financial assistance is available.
