In May 2020, DESE empaneled the Task Force for Learning Acceleration, made up of education stakeholders from across Missouri, to address the sweeping impact of extended school closures in spring 2020.  Members of the task force worked collaboratively to develop recommendations and tools that address assessment of learning loss, acceleration of learning and reaching all students.  Find the recommendations and resources prepared by the task force here.

The Guide to the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) is a source for technical information, timelines and resources for administrators, district testing coordinators (DTCs), teachers, and parents of Missouri public school students.

Missouri Career Pathways is a statewide, collaborative initiative that supports the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Show-Me Success program goal that all Missouri students will graduate ready for success. 

Feminine Hygiene Product Grant Program

The 2023 Missouri General Assembly appropriated $1 million for the 2023-24 school year to provide feminine hygiene products for Missouri students enrolled in grades 6-12.

Local education agencies (LEAs) must complete the following steps in order to utilize this grant: 

MISSOURI COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL COUNSELING PROGRAM

The vision of the School Counseling Staff is to work with schools to help ensure that each school has a fully implemented comprehensive school counseling program that supports the academic, career, and intrapersonal/interpersonal development of all students through the delivery of counseling curriculum, individual student planning, and responsive services. The program is managed and evaluated through system support activities that also support the on-going mission of the school.
