ETS Praxis Exams(link is external) - See a list and register for tests required for each certification area in Missouri.

Praxis Testing Schedule - This is a broad overview of when each test is offered by ETS. Availability may vary between testing centers. Be advised that the actual test windows do not align exactly with calendar months, so a test that is indicated as being offered in October, for example, may not actually be offered on every day of October.

Qualifying Scores(link is external) - A list of the qualifying test scores can be found on the Praxis site(link is external) (Select Missouri in the State or Agency drop-down menu).

Add-On Certifications - This is a list of certification areas that can be added on by test only if the individual currently holds an initial teaching certificate.

Transition Announcements
  • As of July 1, 2024, ETS exams are required for certification in Missouri. ETS exams taken before this date may not be used for Missouri certification. No Pearson exams will be available after June 23, 2024.
  • Scores for Pearson exams taken before July 1, 2024, will continue to be valid--in the certification area with which they are currently associated--in most cases-- after July 1, 2024. This will apply to the paraprofessional exam, too.
    • The one exception to this is the Elementary exam. If only a subtest(s) has been passed by July 1, 2024, then a candidate for certification in Elementary Education will have to pass the entire battery of Praxis Elementary Education tests.
  • As of September 1, 2024, ELL certification will require both evidence of coursework addressing mandated competencies AND a passing score on the ETS ELL exam. ELL certification cannot be added by test only.
  • As of September 1, 2024, Gifted certification will require both evidence of coursework addressing mandated competencies AND a passing score on the ETS Gifted Education exam. Gifted certification cannot be added by test only.
