Missouri Growth Model

Missouri Growth Model

Student growth is the change in academic achievement (as measured by the grade-level Missouri Assessment Program exams in English language arts and mathematics) for an individual student between two or more points in time. The Missouri Growth Model calculates how much students "grew" relative to predictions. These predictions are based on prior exam score, and student mobility. Average student mobility rates and average prior-year test scores are also used.

Alternative Methods of Instruction

Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI)

Beginning in school year 2020-21, a local education agency (LEA) will not be required to make up school hours that are lost or canceled due to exceptional or emergency circumstances (up to 36 hours) if the LEA implements an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Plan that is approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Please see the information below to assist with your district's AMI Plan.

Summer School Program

Summer School

The utilization of extended learning opportunities, including summer school, aligned to the Missouri Learning Standards (MLS), may be used by local education agencies (LEAs) to improve the academic performance of students. LEAs may hold summer school programs any time between the close of the regular school term and the beginning of the next regular term. LEAs with a “year-round” regular term schedule may conduct an approved component of summer school during the breaks in the regular term.
