State to Hold Public Hearing on Normandy Schools Collaborative

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will hold a public hearing Thursday, April 28 to discuss improvement efforts and gather community feedback regarding the Normandy Schools Collaborative (NSC).

The hearing is open to the public and will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Normandy High School’s Viking Hall, 6701 St. Charles Rock Road in St. Louis. The hearing will begin immediately after a meeting of the NSC’s Joint Executive Governing Board.

Superintendent Dr. Charles Pearson will present an update on the NSC’s progress, followed by open public comment and then a community discussion. Persons wishing to make public comments will be asked to provide their names and addresses and limit their remarks to three minutes.

Transportation to the hearing will be provided for community members. A light dinner will be available in the hearing room, and child care will be provided in room 113-west at Viking Hall. Anyone attending this public hearing who requires auxiliary aids or services should request such services by contacting the Communications Office for the DESE, telephone: (573) 751-3469 or Relay Missouri (800) 735-2966, no later than 72 hours before the meeting.

The Department will hold a public hearing Thursday, April 23 to discuss improvement efforts and gather community feedback regarding the Normandy Schools Collaborative.

The hearing is open to the public and will take place from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the cafetorium of Lucas Crossing Elementary School, 7837 Natural Bridge Road.

Normandy Schools Collaborative officials will give a presentation regarding efforts to return the district to accredited status and determine what community resources may be useful or necessary in supporting that effort.

Persons wishing to make public comments will be asked to provide their names and addresses and limit their remarks to three minutes.
