In 2023, the Office of Childhood (OOC) contracted with Wonderschool to help recruit child care providers, specifically family home providers in child care deserts, to become licensed to provide child care in Missouri. Wonderschool is a platform that allows child care providers to build their business, whether from the start or to improve their current practices, and assists families in finding child care that meets their needs.

Wonderschool aims to assist Missouri by:
- Creating 100 new family child care home providers throughout the state of Missouri
- Supporting 300 existing providers with business optimization, training, and sustainability
- Providing resources for family child care networks to support providers in creating sustainable programs

- Providing a digital platform for each new provider, which includes setting up a professional business website that offers functions like enrollment and invoicing management, expense reporting, and parent communication avenues.
