On May 4, 2008, the Rolla School District honored Missouri Commissioner of Education D. Kent King. Dr. King was superintendent of the Rolla district for 19 years (1977-1996). The school district named its administrative offices the D. Kent King Administration Center in his honor.
Dr. King is pictured here with Joe Gorman (left) and Tom Thomas, two long-time friends of the King family who helped plan the May 4 ceremony.
Students at the Rolla Technical Institute constructed the new masonry sign outside the building that houses the King Administration Center.
