Consortium of States Receives Grant to Create Next-Generation Assessment System
The U.S. Department of Education has awarded $160 million to the SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortium to develop a high-quality, internationally benchmarked assessment system that all states can use. SBAC is comprised of 31 state partners, including Missouri.

Commissioner Tours School Projects in Purdy and Aurora
Commissioner Chris Nicastro traveled to southwest Missouri Wednesday to meet with students, educators and Rural Schools Partnership representatives. She toured Aurora High School's award-winning solar car project and Purdy High School's community recycling project.
STEM Summit to be Held Wednesday
