“i3” Grants Are Now Open. The U.S. Department of Education has just announced application guidelines for $650 million in grants under the Investing in Innovation Fund. It is open to school districts, groups of districts, charter schools and nonprofits. Workshops and Webinars have been scheduled to assist applicants.

Public Comment on “Common Core State Standards.” The first official public draft of Common Core State Standards for K-12 was released today for public comment by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices and the Council of Chief State School Officers. Comment period ends April 2.
