DESE has designated $500,000 in remaining ESSER II funds to cover the cost of educator testing. Starting June 6, 2023, individuals may register for any Missouri Content Assessment (MoCA), the Missouri General Education Assessment (MoGEA), or the Paraprofessional exam at no cost--until the funds are gone.
Additional details will be provided closer to June 6, but below is the information available at this point.
- Because of the constraints on the funding, this fee waiver will only apply to registrations that occur between June 6, 2023 and September 30, 2023.
- Individuals registering for one of these assessments will automatically have the cost of the assessment applied during the registration process. No money will be required of the registrant during the process.
- Tests may be taken up to a year from the date of registration.
- There will be a limit of three (3) concurrent free registrations.
- Missing a scheduled exam for which a fee waiver was used without a verified excuse will result in the individual being ineligible for further fee waivers.
- Test-takers who register for multiple tests, and then learn that they will not need all of them, should immediately cancel registrations for the unneeded exams. Otherwise, those funds will be unavailable to others.
