Mathematics Core Academic Standards: Three Major Shifts
This three-session webinar series provides information about the three major shifts that are outlined in the Missouri Mathematics Core Academic Standards. Each session includes a discussion of one of the shifts along with pertinent information and resources.
Session 1 Shift One: Focus
This session includes a discussion of the focus shift. The Missouri Mathematics Core Academic Standards are intended to focus on fewer topics and address them in greater depth.

Session 2 Shift Two: Coherence
This session includes a discussion of the coherence shift. The Mathematics Core Academic Standards were developed based upon mathematical progressions which connect within and across grades.
Session 3 Shift Three: Rigor
This session includes a discussion of the three components of the rigor shift. The Mathematics Core Academic Standards call for the development of conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and the application of knowledge to solve problems.
