Subject: Second September Payment Option for Part B Funds

Districts have the option of requesting a second September school payment for their 2013-14 Part B grant if an approved budget application is on file.  However, if the second payment option is chosen, the district must continue to meet Cash Management requirements in that 1) funds are for expenditures that have already occurred, 2) funds will be expended within three days of receipt, or 3) the district will pay interest on any funds that do not meet the requirements of option 1 or 2.

Payment requests must be submitted by Monday, September 23 at noon, and include a comment indicating the request is for the second September payment.  Districts will receive the funds on September 30.  Any payment requests without a comment will be held and processed in the next month's school payment.

If your district has already submitted a request for October payment, but would like to take advantage of the second September payment, simply revise the payment request, make any necessary changes to the requested amount, and insert a comment indicating the request is for the second September payment.
