The FY13 Part B budget application may be amended through April 30, 2013. Districts should ensure the budget application reflects all planned expenditures for the remainder of the year. Prior approval from the Special Education Finance section will be required on any budget amendment after April 30.
In addition, districts must ensure both prior year proportionate share carryover amounts and current year proportionate share amounts are accounted for in the budget grid. The entire current year proportionate share amount must be budgeted under function code 1224 with no exceptions. The prior year proportionate share carryover amount must also be budgeted under function code 1224 unless the district received approval to release these carryover funds. If approval was obtained, released proportionate share carry-over funds may be budgeted under any function code other than 1224.
