This is the first in a series of webinars about Special Education and English Language Learners (ELL):  Guidance for LEA staff.  This webinar will focus on an overview of the ELL and Special Education programs including key terms and the legal foundations of each program.  In addition, this webinar looks at data to highlight the need for more collaboration between these two programs as well as discuss common “myths.”  The new flow chart for pre-referral activities for use in the special education identification process for ELL students will be discussed and is available as a handout at the webinar link above.  In addition, a Q&A, which includes the questions submitted during the original webinar, has been posted at the webinar link.
