A free workshop, "Resilience in Deaf Children," will be held on April 27, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at DEAF, Inc., 25 E Frisco Ave, Webster Groves, MO.  The workshop will be presented by Drs. Debra Zand and Katherine Pierce, psychologists and editors of Resilience in Deaf Children; Karen Lister, B.S.W., deaf specialist with Paraquad; and, Cindy McMurtrey, President of Missouri Hands and Voices.

This workshop will provide information about resilience and what families and professionals can do to build resilience in children that are deaf or hard of hearing.  To register, contact Larry Hoard at larry.hoard@msd.dese.mo.gov, Voice/TTY 573-592-2543, or VP 573-826-4606.  Provide your name, email address, whether you are a parent, teacher, etc, and school district.

ASL interpreters will be at the training.  Requests for other accommodations must be made by March 27, 2013.

Professional development hours are available for teachers.
