The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) with the U.S. Department of Education has published a letter to inform districts about a provision in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2014 related to the Part B requirement that local educational agencies (LEAs) maintain the level of local, or state and local, expenditures to the education of children with disabilities, known as maintenance of effort (MOE). The letter analyzes both the compliance and the eligibility aspects of MOE.


 

At the December 3, 2013, meeting, the State Board of Education acted on proposed changes for the Part B State Regulations Implementing the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

 


 

The Missouri State Board of Education approved proposed changes to the Missouri State Plan for Special Education - State Regulations Implementing Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act at the December 3, 2013, board meeting.
