The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will once again collaborate with Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis, Missouri to provide scholarships for a limited number of providers to attend several workshops related to providing services to children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing ages birth – 3.

The scholarship will cover expenses related to travel, registration, and a provider stipend to attend the workshop(s).
Central Institute for the Deaf will host several workshops in the following locations:

FOR PROVIDERS
•    Cape Girardeau, Missouri at Southeast Missouri State University (Thursday March 17, 2011): Early Intervention for Children with Hearing Impairment A to Z.

•    Macon, Missouri at the Macon Comfort Inn (Friday April 1, 2011): Early Intervention for Children with Hearing Impairment A to Z.

Apply today while space is still available. Priority will be given to providers serving children birth to age 3 who are deaf and hard of hearing in the Macon and Cape Girardeau areas.

These workshops were made possible through the use of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) monies that allow professional development opportunities for providers who serve children in the First Steps program.
