Source: Pam Thomas, Coordinator of Early Intervention Services
Intended Audience: First Steps Providers and Service Coordinators
Date: August 26, 2009
In collaboration with Central Institute for the Deaf (CID) in St. Louis, Missouri – the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will provide scholarships for a limited number of providers to attend workshops and seminars related to providing services to children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing ages birth – 3. The scholarship will cover expenses related to travel, registration, and a provider stipend to attend the workshop(s).
These trainings are designed to provide a spectrum of information to providers; from a general overview of best practices in early intervention in deaf education, to interpreting audiologic test results, to problem-solving strategies to ensure positive outcomes.
For more information on the details of the workshops and application forms to apply for a scholarship, visit www.cid.edu/MOworkshops.htm
These trainings were made possible through the use of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) monies that allow professional development opportunities for providers who serve children in the First Steps program.
