On March 2, 2009, the Division of Special Education made available for public review and comment the application packet for federal funds under Part C of IDEA. The draft application packet for IDEA Part C funds is available for review and comment at http://dese.mo.gov/divspeced/Compliance/Part-C/index2.html.
At the time of posting the application the dollar amounts listed in Section III, Use of Funds, were based upon current year (FFY08) estimated expenditures because the federal budget was not finalized, thus preventing the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) from giving states their FFY09 budget allocations.
We have received our FFY09 allocation tables from OSEP and have updated the application form posted on the web with the current figures.
As you review the application, please take note of the following:
* The application is in a format required by OSEP.
* The costs included in this application only reflect the Part C portion of federal IDEA funds that are allocated to the state of Missouri and not the total cost of special education services.
This application is available for review on the Division's website for sixty (60) days, until May 1, 2009. Individuals desiring to submit written comments on the application may do so from March 26 to April 24, 2009 Comments should be sent to the attention of CJ Hubbard, Assistant Director, Part C Compliance, at webreplyspefs@dese.mo.gov or P.O.
