Intended Audience: Personnel of ECSE Programs, First Steps and Programs Serving Children Who Are Visually Impaired

Date: January 19, 2010

A course in early intervention for children with vision impairment and their families is being offered by the Missouri School for the Blind through Project VIISA (Vision Impaired In-Service in America).  Applications are now being accepted, with a registration deadline of February 12, 2010.

Course I: Early Intervention for Infants and Toddlers (birth through two years) and Their Families covers topics related to the unique needs of infants and toddlers who are vision impaired, including: visual development, visual impairment, and orientation and mobility (O&M). The course combines self-studies, homework assignments, and two face-to-face sessions with course instructors. The course is free of charge.

Dates:      March 10 (half-day), 11 & 12, 2010

                 May 19 (half-day), 20 & 21, 2010
