Introduction to Special Education

Introduction to Special Education is an overview of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) process in Missouri.  The web site may be used by anyone interested in knowing more about Special Education including parents, students, advocates, teachers, administrators, and other interested parties.

As required by the IDEA, those individuals interested in becoming Educational Surrogates for Special Education in Missouri must go through a training session on the processes used in Special Education.  Introduction to Special Education is meant to provide the information necessary to meet the IDEA and Missouri requirements to become an Educational Surrogate. Once all appropriate materials have been reviewed, you will be able to complete the application to become an Educational Surrogate.
