BEFORE THE THREE-MEMBER DUE PROCESS HEARING PANEL

MISSOURI SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF,          

ORDER

The Chairperson has received a copy of a letter from the Missouri School for the Deaf to , dated August 3, 1999 which states in part as follows:

"This letter is to inform you that Missouri School for the Deaf will accept a referral from St. Louis Special School District for your son  for the 1999-2000 school year."

 The Petitioner’s request for a due process hearing concerned placement and was stated in a letter dated May 4, 1999 to Allan Ensor, Clinical Director, Missouri School for the Deaf, as follows:

"I want to appeal Missouri School for the Deaf’s decision regarding   school placement for the fall of 1999.

I strongly believe that MSD is the most appropriate placement for ."

 The letter dated August 3, 1999 from Missouri School for the Deaf to , referenced above, makes the issue of placement moot.  Accordingly, it is hereby ordered that the hearing scheduled for September 2, 1999 is canceled and Petitioner’s request for a hearing concerning placement is dismissed.
