The Office of Special Education is extending invitations to apply for Special Education Improvement Grants in the areas of Elementary Achievement and Post-Secondary Transition. This is an excellent opportunity for districts to receive funding for systems change such as three-tiered models including Response to Intervention (RtI), School-Wide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS), and Professional Learning Communities (PLC).
Districts applying for grants must submit a letter of intent to webreplyspeep@dese.mo.gov by 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2011. The grant application must be submitted to DESE through ePeGs/IMACS by 5:00 p.m. on March 1, 2011.
Complete 2010-2011 information and letters of intent are available at http://dese.mo.gov/divspeced/EffectivePractices/ImprovementPlan.htm.
