The Office of Special Education is offering several topical webinars in the coming months.  Functional Behavioral Assessment will be the focus of the webinar held on November 18, 2010, from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.  The webinar will begin with a video presentation on Functional Behavioral Assessment by Dr. Tim Lewis, Professor of Special Education at the University of Missouri-Columbia and Co-Director of the OSEP Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.  The one-hour video and corresponding handouts may be accessed on the following Department website under the heading "Functional Behavior Assessment Resources:" http://www.dese.mo.gov/divspeced/EffectivePractices/web_based.htm.  After the video, there will be a live question and answer session facilitated by Dr. Terry Bigby, Missouri School-wide Positive Behavior Support Secondary/Tertiary Consultant, about issues discussed in the presentation.  The question and answer portion of the webinar will commence at approximately 11:00 a.m.
