Early Childhood Outcomes
Source: Joyce Jackman, Coordinator, Early Intervention Services
Intended Audience: Early Childhood Special Education staff and Directors of
Special Education
Date: August 31, 2006
During September 2006, the Division of Special Education will conduct
regional workshops to train First Steps (Part C) staff and Early Childhood
Special Education (Part B) staff on the process for collecting and reporting
data regarding early childhood outcomes. This new reporting requirement from
the Office of Special Education Programs
(OSEP) is designed to report performance data for young children receiving
services through Parts B and C of the Individuals with Disabilities
Education Act (IDEA).
Twenty (20) workshops will be held around the state. Districts are asked to
limit attendance to four (4) individuals with the intent that those
attending will return to the district and instruct other staff on the
collection and reporting of these data. Data collection and reporting is
*REQUIRED* for all Part B and Part C programs. Training dates, sites, and
registration instructions are located at My Learning Plan.com under the
heading MO - First Steps. To register, visit the following web address:
