A two-day workshop on Activity Based Programming for Visually Impaired/Multi-disabled Students will be provided by DESE Blindness Skills Specialists Jan DeHart, Heart of Missouri RPDC, and Anthony Blades, Northeast (Truman) RPDC. This workshop will be held September 12 and 19, 2008, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the University of Missouri-Columbia, #2 London Hall. A one-day workshop focusing on the unique aspects of educating students who have visual impairments and the role of the regular education teacher will be provided by DESE Blindness Skills Specialist Anthony Blades, Northeast (Truman) RPDC. Topics to be covered include low vision devices, assessment procedures, and Braille. This workshop will be held October 24, 2008, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Alphapointe Association for the Blind, 7501 Prospect Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64132.
