A SELS message sent July 15, 2005, informed districts that proposed federal regulations for the reauthorized Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and proposed federal data collection changes were out for public comment.  This message is to clarify deadlines for submitting comments to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) on these proposed changes.

 

Comments on proposed regulations must be received by September 6, 2005.

Comments on proposed data collections must be received by August 21, 2005.

 

Comments may be emailed to IDEAComments@ed.gov.  Put “Part B – Regulations” or “Part B – Data Collections” in the subject line, as appropriate.
