Source: Heidi Atkins Lieberman, Assistant Commissioner
Intended Audience: Superintendents, Principals, Directors, Teacher Leaders
Date: July 22, 2010
This is a reminder about the final two Response to Intervention (RtI) training opportunities. This is the same event that occurred in June 2009 in the Southwest region (Springfield). The registration cost of the events listed below is $125 which includes breakfast, lunch, and materials for both days.
The Regional Professional Development Centers will host awareness level RtI trainings in the following locations:
Northeast/Northwest (Kirksville): August 9-10, 2010 Central RPDC (Warrensburg): September 30-October 1, 2010
The training will feature presentations from the national perspective about what RtI is and is not, its alignment with other initiatives, as well as the state's perspective about where we are in terms of three-tiered models of intervention. Schools currently implementing RtI will be showcased along with discussion about resources to assist districts in exploring initial steps to implementation.
Planning for this training was a joint effort among the Regional Professional Development Centers, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the North Central Regional Resource Center, the National Center on RtI, and the Mid-Continent Comprehensive Center.
