Subject: Tentative Schedule for Releasing 2009 MAP, AYP, & APR Data

Source: Martha Leader, Supervisor, Effective Practices

Intended Audience: Special Education Directors, Test Coordinators, and School Personnel who Administer the MAP-A

Date: June 5, 2009

DESE staff are making plans now for the release of 2009 MAP test results, Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) determinations, Annual Performance Reports (APRs), and Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAOs).  Because of federal regulations, we must release the AYP status of all schools prior to the start of the 2009-10 school year.

Additionally, to aid with the transition in using the Missouri Student Information System (MOSIS) to populate the Core Data Collection System, we plan to post a tentative 2009 APR by 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, displaying district data for the non-MAP standards.  This tentative posting has not been available in the past and is for district assistance purposes only.  It will not impact the timeline for posting the preliminary or final APRs.  Districts should ensure that user IDs and passwords are working properly as Crystal Reports will be closed for DESE testing from July 17 - August 5.

Following is our tentative schedule for releasing data.  Note this timetable may have implications for you and your staff as you plan summer schedules.

June 5

Tentative APRs containing the data for the non-MAP standards, excluding ACT and AYP, released to school districts for review on secure website.

June 22-July 10

MOSIS ID and Demographic data cleanup.  This includes assessment records from the administration of the MAP grades 3-8, MAP-Alternate, End-of-Course, and LAS LINKS.  Districts should verify student MOSIS IDs and make sure there is a MOSIS April Student Core record present for each assessment record.  PLEASE NOTE: This is the only time period school districts will have this year to correct demographic data.  There will not be a "window" for demographic data cleanup after preliminary AYP or APR results have been released.

July 1-July 10

Review and update attendance and graduation rate data for AYP and APR purposes.

August 5

Tentative AYP results, AMAO results, MAP data, and LND released to school districts for review on the secure website.

August 10

Preliminary AYP and AMAO results released to public.  District/School Improvement notification letters sent to districts and schools.

August 17

MAP achievement level data released to school districts on secure website.

August 21

MAP achievement level data released to the public on the DESE website.

August 10 - September 4

Preliminary AYP appeals window.

Score Appeals window (more information will follow).

September 21

Final AYP results and School/District Improvement status released.

October 19

Preliminary APRs released on secure website.

October 19 - November 13

Window for APR corrections.

November 30

Final APRs released.

Please understand this schedule is dictated largely by federal requirements for early notification of the AYP status of all schools.

Our timeline also may be impacted by the addition of End-of-Course (EOC) operational and field test results.  If you have questions about this schedule, please contact the Accountability Data and Accreditation office at 573-526-4886.
