Registration is now open for the DESE Transition Institute, July 20-22, 2008, at the Oasis Convention Center and Inn, Springfield, MO.  The Transition Institute is designed to present a wide range of transition topics including compliance, interagency collaboration, capacity building, and the opportunity to plan as a district team.  There will be strands for Special Education, General Education, and Counselors.  It is preferred that districts send a team of four which consists of a general education teacher, a special education teacher, an administrator, and counselor.

There is no registration fee to attend this workshop but participants are responsible for their own lodging and travel expenses.  Only a limited number of slots are available and they will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.  To register, go to My Learning Plan at http://www.dese.mo.gov/divspeced/EffectivePractices/training.html then click Effective Practices Catalog.  The Transition Institute is #2 on the page, click to enroll.
