Date: April 23, 2007
The Division of Special Education is conducting a Transition Institute on
June 6-7, 2007, in Springfield, Missouri. It will focus on all areas of
post-secondary transition including procedures and practices that promote
positive outcomes for students with disabilities.
Attendance at this institute is limited and enrollment will be done on a
first-come, first-serve basis. This workshop requires districts to send a
team of four individuals which must include a counselor, a special education
teacher, a general education teacher, and an administrator.
The Transition Institute will include a keynote speaker, breakout sessions,
and team action planning. The deadline for registration is May 10, 2007.
Lunch will be provided both days and breakfast will be provided on day 2.
All other expenses (lodging, meals, and transportation) will be incurred by
your district. Rooms have been blocked for your convenience at the Oasis Inn
and Convention Center at 888-532-4338.
