(, we explained the OSEP fiscal verification visit to Missouri was to occur in late September.  The team from OSEP did indeed come and spent four days with us reviewing our practices, policies, and procedures in depth.  They reviewed documents, interviewed staff, and discussed IDEA requirements using a critical elements analysis guide they developed.

We have now received our final report containing the results of this review.  This report was very thorough and captured the information we had provided to OSEP concerning our policies and procedures.   We are pleased to inform you that no findings were included in this report, indicating the State as a whole has met all OSEP requirements of Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Your assistance in improving the performance of the students in your district, submitting timely and accurate data, and fiscal responsibility certainly contributed to this positive outcome for the State.  You may access the report in its entirety at

Thank you for your support of and assistance in improving the education of students with disabilities in the State of Missouri.
