Subject: Improvement Grant Budget Entry in IMACS

Source: Heike Imler, Assistant Director, Effective Practices

Intended Audience: Administrators and district personnel entering Improvement Plan Budgets

Date: February 23, 2009

Districts that are applying for Special Education Improvement Grants can now enter budgets into IMACS (Improvement, Monitoring, Accountability and Compliance System).  After submitting the plan in ePeGS, log into IMACS, select the Improvement Plan and select 2009 as the improvement plan year.  Click on the "Objectives and Strategies" link, and then navigate through the objective and strategy levels to the budget section.  Click on "Add" to enter a new budget item, select 2009-10 as the expenditure year, select the budget categories, and enter a brief description and the budget amount.  When all budget items are entered, click on the Print and View button on the Improvement Plan page and print and submit the Improvement Plan.

Only those strategies that were designated as "Special Education Improvement Plan" in ePeGS will appear in IMACS.  If objectives/strategies are not showing up in IMACS, go back into ePeGS to ensure that all applicable strategies were tied to the Special Education Improvement Plan.

As a reminder, the Improvement Plan is entered into ePeGs and the budget is entered into IMACS.  Both the Improvement Plan and budget are due March 2, 2009.
