The State Schools for Severely Handicapped (SSSH), which serves over 1,000
students in Missouri who have severe disabilities, has just completed an
extensive revision of its curriculum. This curriculum was designed by
individuals who specialize in educating students who have severe
disabilities. SSSH would like to ensure that you are aware of the
availability of this curriculum for your use with your students who
have severe disabilities.
This curriculum contains six content areas (Mathematic, Communication Arts,
Fine Arts, Social Studies, Health/PE, and Science) and is divided into grade
spans: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Each grade span contains authentic life
skills and suggestions for authentic learning activities.
In the areas of Communication Arts and Mathematics, MAP-A alternate
performance indicators (API) are included that align with the GLEs.
