Subject: Exceptional Pupil Aid (EPA) Payment Source: Joyce Jackman, Director, Funds Management Intended Audience: Special Education Directors, School Financial Officers Date: February 2, 2005
We had anticipated making the first live EPA payment for 2004-2005 school year with the February school payment; however, continued operational problems with the new EPA payment program require us to continue with the estimated payment for February. Our program developers believe that the remaining problems will be resolved early this month and a payment against current year core data will be possible for the March payment. We will continue to work with districts to correct core data errors that would result in a “no-pay” status for specific staff and encourage each district to work through edit/error reports so that the first live payment is as error free as possible.
Only after the first live payment is completed will districts be able to access payment information through the web-based program. As soon as the new system becomes fully operational and a live payment has been processed, we will notify the field via SELS and provide direction for accessing those reports.
Homebound Services reimbursements for the 2003-2004 school year will be included in the February school payment. Extended School Year reimbursements for the 2003-2004 school year were made with the December school payment. Contractual payments will not be made until all SHCPR applications have been processed and prior year adjustments will run with the first live EPA payment for this year.
Sandy Kliethermes and John Underwood in the Funds Management Section are available to answer questions and provide assistance as districts attempt to clear any outstanding issues with information on Core Data Screens 18 and 20. They can be reached at 573-751-0622 or 573-751-0623. |
