Intended Audience: System stakeholders in Part B of the Individuals with
Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)

The Division of Special Education, Department of Elementary and Secondary
Education, is proposing changes to the State regulations implementing Part B
of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The proposed
changes are available for inspection in the Office of the Assistant
Commissioner, Division of Special Education, Missouri Department of
Elementary and Secondary Education, 205 Jefferson Street, 4th floor,
Jefferson Building, Jefferson City, MO 65102 during regular office hours and
are also available on the Division website at
http://dese.mo.gov/divspeced/stateplan/index.html.
Three public hearings will be conducted on the proposed changes during
February 2007. Information regarding the dates, times, and locations for the
public hearings are listed on the Division website at
http://dese.mo.gov/divspeced/stateplan/index.html or can be obtained by
calling the Office of the Coordinator of Special Education Services at
573-751-2965.
Public comments on the proposed changes are being solicited and should be
directed as follows no later than the close of business on February 27,
