Subject: Graduate and Dropout Follow-up Data Collection/REMINDER

Source: Mary Corey, Director, Office of Data System Management

Intended Audience: Special Education Directors/Administrators

Date: January 6, 2011

Districts must submit follow-up data for students with disabilities who dropped out as well as graduated during 2009-10.  The follow-up data for dropouts and graduates will be reported using the MOSIS Graduate Follow-up file in February 2011.

A webinar presented in December reviewed the follow-up requirements.  Please see the following webpage to access the recording, handouts, and Q&A:

This information is required for the State Performance Plan (SPP) and will be included in the public reporting of data at the district level as required by OSEP.  Please work with the personnel who compile follow-up data to ensure reporting of follow-up data for both graduates and dropouts from grades 9-12.  Follow-up on dropouts is only required if the student had an IEP at the time of dropping out.
