On December 31, a SELS message was sent by Ginger Henry, notifying you that the newly developed Parents' Bill of Rights document is available online at http://dese.mo.gov/divspeced/Compliance/parentbillofrights.html.
Since that time I have received some questions about this new requirement. This requirement is not a federal one, but rather is due to a Missouri law that was passed last legislative session. The statute was very specific as to the contents of the document. The document we have posted contains the required language from the Missouri law.
Thanks to those of you who brought to my attention the need to explain the origin of this new requirement!
