NAEHCY National Conference:
It’s not too soon to begin thinking about the 2012 NAEHCY Conference. For those who are new to homeless education, this is the only conference that brings together educators, MV program coordinators, service providers, and policy makers to network, share best practices, and improve services to remove educational barriers for homeless children and youth.
Mark your calendars: The 2012 conference will take place in Albuquerque, New Mexico on October 27-30. Note that registration will open April 3, and the request for proposals to present will be available during that week also.
For up-to-date information on the conference, visit the NAEHCY website at: http://www.naehcy.org/conf/conf_2012.html .
Grant Application:
The Mary Kay Foundation is committed to ending the epidemic of domestic violence by providing grants to women's shelters throughout the United States. Each year, the Foundation’s Shelter Grant Program awards grants of $20,000 to at least one domestic violence shelter in every state; remaining funds are distributed based on state population. Applying organizations must offer immediate overnight housing to women and children affected by domestic violence. The grants provided by the Foundation may be used for the operating budget of the shelter, with the exception of staff travel.
The application deadline is April 30, 2012.
Visit the Foundation’s website to review the funding guidelines and download the application forms: http://www.marykayfoundation.org/Pages/ShelterGrantProgram.aspx
