Missouri Baptist University Agrees to End Charter Sponsorship
Missouri Baptist University informed the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education on March 23 of its intent to relinquish charter-sponsoring authority for the four local education agencies the University currently sponsors in St. Louis.
Commissioner of Education Chris L. Nicastro will recommend that the State Board of Education accept the agreement during the Board's regular meeting on April 16 in Jefferson City.
The University has agreed to waive any hearing rights related to charter-sponsoring authority. The University also agreed to not apply for sponsorship of any charter school for at least five years.
