State Education Board Vice President Stan Archie Chosen as Director of National Association
Rev. Stan Archie, vice president of the Missouri State Board of Education, was re-elected to the board of directors of the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE). Archie will begin his second two-year term as a director from NASBE’s Central region in January 2012.
“Stan Archie’s experience as a thoughtful leader whose experience serving his community and state is a tremendous asset to our board,” said NASBE Executive Director Brenda Welburn. “He and the rest of our board provide their fellow policymakers from across the country the support and diversity of opinion so critical to finding solutions to the educational needs of American students in the 21st century.”
Archie, a resident of Kansas City, Mo., was appointed to the State Board in 2006. He is senior pastor of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. Archie also served on NASBE’s School-Community Partnerships and Early Secondary Education study groups.
The National Association of State Boards of Education represents America’s state and territorial boards of education. NASBE exists to strengthen state boards as the preeminent educational policymaking bodies for citizens and students.
