Department Will Hold Four Hearings on Special Education Services

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will hold four public hearings this month regarding proposed changes in state regulations for special education services in Missouri. 

The purpose of the hearings is to receive comments and suggestions from persons interested in services provided under Part B (ages 3-21) and Part C (birth to age 3) of the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).   Separate hearings regarding the Part B and Part C provisions will be held at the following locations:

Copies of the proposed changes to the state regulations are available for review during regular office hours in the Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, 205 Jefferson Street, Jefferson Building, 4th Floor, Jefferson City.

Following the public comment period, the proposed changes will be submitted to the Missouri State Board of Education for final approval.
