Missouri Child Work Certificates

A child 14 or 15 years of age must obtain a work certificate and submit it to the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, Division of Labor Standards for employment during the school year.  Regardless of where the child attends school (public, private or home school), the work certificate must be obtained from the superintendent or authorized designee of the public school where the child resides.  Please duplicate these forms for use within your district.

Contact the Division of Labor Standards at (573) 751-3403 for additional information regarding work certificates or state child labor laws. These forms relate only to compliance with state labor laws, the federal wage and hour law provides a separate standard for child labor.
